Crack,
which looks like soapy crystalline rock, is processed from powder cocaine
by heating it with ammonia or baking soda and water. Crack is most often
smoked in a glass or metal pipe, but it can also be cooked and injected.
Crack is very addictive. It produces a fast, intense high, followed by
very deep lows. Heavy use can cause aggressive, paranoid behavior, depression,
hallucinations, cardiac arrest and sometimes, death.
