Anabolic Steroids

Also known as...
juice, roids

Anabolic Steroids are body-building hormones that come in tablet or liquid form, generally used by athletes to increase muscle mass, strength, or endurance. After several weeks of continued use, users may feel euphoria, increased energy, aggression, and competitiveness. Steroids cause serious changes in body function, producing dangerous effects, including high blood pressure, heart disease, liver tumors and strokes. Men may experience impotence, shrinking of the testicles, baldness, or development of breasts. Women may have facial hair growth, deepened voice, and changes in the menstrual cycle. Regular steroid users often suffer withdrawal symptoms when they stop, including depression, insomnia, and fatigue.
